Originaly created by Justin Stoney, the Founder of New York Vocal Coaching in New York City, Vocal Articles has since grown to feature articles from all of New York Vocal Coaching's incredible professional vocal coaches, acting coaches, musical theatre instructors, and more. Our contributors are some of the finest and most dedicated arts teachers in NYC and all the world.

Zac Bradford is the Director of NYVC Australia. His clients have reached the Top 10 on the Billboard charts, have been featured in Hollywood films, TV shows, have worked as backing singers for AAA touring artists, and are performing on Broadway, Off-Broadway, 1st US Tours, internationally, and more. His clients also perform in famous live music venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, Rockwood Music Hall and The Bitter End.

Andrea Grody

Senior Voice Teacher Associate, Musical Theatre Career Consultant, Resident Music Director

Andrea Grody was the original Music Director/Supervisor of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Band’s Visit, is Musical Director/Supervisor & Vocal Arranger for the 2019 new musical adaptation of Tootsie, and dozens more critically-acclaimed musicals & performances across the country and NYC. Andrea discovered a love for vocal technique and voice teaching after completing her Voice Teacher Training & Certification course in 2015. She is currently developing Songwise, an online learning platform that teaches singers to read music.

Arbender Robinson

Musical Theatre Associate

Arbender Robinson is currently the Musical Theatre Coaching Associate at New York Vocal Coaching, and Co-Director of New York Acting Coaching. No stranger to the stage, Mr. Robinson has appeared in ten (10) Broadway musicals. He made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award winning production of Hairspray; where he covered the role of Seaweed. In the original cast of Disney’s The Little Mermaid he covered the role of Prince Eric. He also served as the Dance Captain and Swing for the Broadway revival of Hair and appeared in the Broadway revival of Ragtime. His credits continue with Disney’s The Lion King, one of Broadway’s longest running and all-time highest grossing show. Later, he was in the original cast of Beautiful- The Carole King Musical and the 2014 revival of Les Miserables and as the cover for Marius. He is also the first African American to ever play Marius on Broadway. Arbender was also in the original cast of Shuffle Along and performed with many Broadway Legends including Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell. The list of legends continue with Director George C Wolfe and Choreographer Savion Glover.

Grant MacDermott

Monologue & Acting Coach

Grant MacDermott is our head acting coach and Co-Director of New York Acting Coaching. Grant has been a professional working actor for most of his life. He began acting professionally at the age of thirteen in commercials and live theater. Grant later moved onto Boston where he received his BFA in Acting and Theater from Emerson College. He then immersed himself in the Boston acting industry by performing in commercials and small roles for movies while continually gracing all the stages in Boston. Grant's experience ranges from shows like Medea with Actor’s Shakespeare Project; Rent with New Repertory Theater; Nicholas Nickleby with The Lyric Stage Company, The Great American Trailer Park Musical with SpeakEasy Stage; and the American premiere of Now or Later at the Huntington Theater alongside Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox and directed by Broadway's Michael Wilson.

Eli Zoller

Head of New York Guitar Teachers

Eli Zoller is the Director of New York Guitar Teachers in New York City. Eli enjoys coaching guitar students, as well as numerous performers and actors on performing and auditioning with instruments. His clients have gone on to major success in the film & television industry, as well as in the recording industry and on the Broadway stage.
